About Us

Aliso Viejo Middle School, a past California Distinguished School and National Blue Ribbon recipient and a current recipient of the California Business for Education Excellence Award, is located in Aliso Viejo and serves the communities of Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel. It opened in November 1993 and currently serves approximately 850 students in Grades 6 through 8. Our Mission Statement is: We are committed to engaging all students with a rigorous curriculum and inspiring a culture of kindness, acceptance, and integrity.

We are proud of our challenging, rigorous academic program, parent and community support, safe and affirming environment, collaborative culture, and committed and enthusiastic staff. Students have six classes which include English, math, social science, science, physical education, and an elective. Instruction is student-centered with teachers working together to build standards-based academic units, which challenge and motivate our students. Our goal is to focus on the skills of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity across all subject areas.
